OK after the accident.
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A woman was flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC following a two-car crash on Slayton Settlement Road just west of Day Road this morning.

According to witnesses, a woman driving a red car did not yield the right of way to another woman driving a minivan, which she struck slightly before 8:30 a.m.

The woman in the red car ended up pinned in her car against a guard rail. Wrights Corners volunteers worked alongside Miller Hose volunteers for over an hour to safely remove the car away from the trapped driver.

Mercy Flight landed at the Town of Lockport wilderness park and the medic were brought to the scene, working on the driver inside the car as the teams from Wrights Corners and Miller Hose worked to untangle the wreckage and remove the roof of the car.

The driver of the minivan and her juvenile passengers were all OK.

Slayton Settlement Road was shut down west of day and east from the town park.

No names have been released by local law enforcement.

Slayton Settlement Road was closed down while emergency responders worked to free the woman from her car.
