HARTLAND — A Carroll Road man's home was broken into and several weapons were stolen on Wednesday.

According to a report from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the man told patrol that someone had forced open his bedroom door and gone through his room. Two guns that were in his locked gun safe were taken, along with two buck knives and approximately 60 rounds of ammunition.

The man told patrol that his truck keys, which had been in his bedroom, were found in the ignition in his pickup truck, which had also been gone through by someone. He believes they tried to start it but it is low on gas. There was no signs of forced entry into the residence, but the complainant assured patrol that his bedroom door is always locked when he leaves the house, and when he returned home his bedroom door was wide open.

The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
