ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Thieves broke windows, a door, a filing cabinet and security cameras at Allie Brandt Bowling Lanes early Sunday morning — to steal $10 cash and some lottery tickets.
According to a report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, when the manager of the bowling alley arrived shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday, she found that two front door windows were smashed out and immediately called police.
Deputies saw the damage to the windows and also found several other areas of damage, including a file cabinet that holds employee records and unopened NYS lotto tickets having been pried off, the security recording device that houses the security tape/DVD having been pried open and the tape/DVD removed, and several cabinets having been opened and a key lock box that was open was gone through and at least two keys were missing: the ATM key and the snack machine key. Patrol found that the outer ATM door was ajar but the inner door was still secure. A wooden cabinet that housed promotional hats and shirts was also broken into.
About 75 scratch off tickets were stolen, as was about $10 cash. Damage done to the building was estimated at around $1,300.
Patrol found several items in and around the building that the manager said had not been there the night before, including a lighter, a bicycle, and a can of Dr. Pepper.
