NEWFANE — A student's $600 cell phone was stolen from his backpack while he was swimming near the Wilson-Burt Bridge, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
The student told patrol on Tuesday that he had a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone in his backpack when he and his friends went swimming and he noticed it missing when he returned home. The complainant said he went back to the area of the bridge to look for it, but was unable to find it and believes someone must have stolen it while he was swimming.
Patrol considers this case closed until further information is provided and due to a lack of suspects.
