The Niagara County Sheriff's Office released a photo this afternoon of what they say are counterfeit athletic jerseys they confiscated from a Lowertown man Friday in the conclusion of a five-month investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force, the City of Lockport Police Department and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
Stephen M. Penkalski, 46, 173 Mill St., was charged with two counts of third-degree trademark counterfeiting.
Police say he ordered counterfeit sport jerseys from out of the country and sold them. Penkalski was released on his own recognizance and will appear in City of Lockport Court at a later date.
