An unnamed female suspect stole nearly $5,000 from a Cottage Street woman, according to a report by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect admitted to patrol that she took the money from the 67-year-old victim because she has a gambling problem. According to the report checks were written to the suspect and her boyfriend — also unnamed — in the amount of $4,931.94.
The woman denied that the boyfriend knew what she was doing. The victim and suspect's statements as well as all notes and evidence were forwarded to the assistant district attorney.
