NEWFANE — A 20-year-old West Avenue woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday that her 2009 Nissan Altima was keyed Wednesday morning.

The woman said the car was scratched on both the driver's and passenger's sides sometime between midnight at 11:30 a.m. while it was parked on Fuller Road. There are multiple deep scratch marks in the paint on both sides of the vehicle, according to a report filed by NCSO. Damage is estimated at approximately $500.

The woman said she and her boyfriend had a physical altercation with a male in Chatauqua County on Monday. Both parties were concerned that the male may try to retaliate. Patrol spoke with the male the pair thought might be behind the vandalism, but he denied any involvement.

The case is closed pending further information.
