Gilbert Jacobs
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 36-year-old Grand Street man is facing traffic charges after Niagara County Sheriff's deputies say he drove with a license suspended nearly five years ago.

Gilbert A. Jacobs, 226 Grand St., was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving an unregistered motor vehicle around 2 p.m. Wednesday after being stopped for having an expired registration by NCSO while eastbound on Saunders Settlement Road.

Jacobs told patrol that he recently moved and must not have received the notice from Department of Motor Vehicles. The vehicle registration had expired on May 8. His license check showed that he currently had two suspensions on two dates, dating back to 2009, the first for refusal of a chemical test and the second for failure to attend a drinking while driving program.

He was transported to the Niagara County Jail on bail of $100 and was to return to court today.

East Niagara Post now publishes garage and yard sales.
