S.E.R.V. Niagara is looking for a few good men — and women — to join its Board of Directors and standing committees.
The not-for-profit aims to "Support, Empower, Respect Veterans and their families" by providing food, clothing, hygiene products, household items, art and horse therapy, transportation assistance, and scholarships. The organization recently took ownership of two City of Lockport properties for veteran exclusive housing, which they hope to have open by late April.
The organization hopes to bring on board members who possess strategic skills in business, education,
employment, public relations, fundraising, grant research and writing, law, PTSD, re-integration, substance abuse, and other clinical expertise. Veterans and individuals with an understanding of the military lifestyle are preferred but not required.
Board members are required to attend monthly meetings and commit to 1 to 3 hours each week planning and implementing designated tasks. Board service is in increments of one year, with the option to serve consecutively. Initial term commences June 16, 2014.
Interested parties are asked to send a letter stating their interest along with a resume to jdandrea@servniagara.org or mail to 80 Park Ave., 2nd Floor, Lockport, NY 14094.
Submission deadline is April 15, 2014.
