A Lewiston Road, Middleport man was charged late Wednesday night with driving while intoxicated by New York State Police.
According to the police report, a Clarence Trooper observed a red Plymouth Neon make a left turn from Main St. west bound and travel southbound into the north bound lanes of Transit Road around 11:15 p.m. The Trooper followed the vehicle activating the emergency lighting of his patrol vehicle. The car then traveled over the center median across the northbound lanes, up onto the curb on the west shoulder and stopped.
The driver, identified as Frank G, Frainier, showed signs of intoxication and failed roadside sobriety tests, according to police.
He was placed under arrest for DWI and submitted a breath sample for testing which showed a BAC of .14%. He was issued traffic tickets to appear in the Town of Clarence Court on a later date
