The Lockport Police Department is taking part in a national prescription drug drop off program on April 26.

The program, a collaboration with the the Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Agency, asks people to drop off used or expired prescription medications, over the counter medications, sharps and even pet medications for safe disposal from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Lockport Plaza on South Transit Road.

Similar drug drop offs are being held at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, and the Medina Fire Department on Main Street in Medina.
