A Gasport woman charged with motor vehicle infractions following a collision at intersection of Quaker and Hartland-Somerset Townline roads now has driving while impaired charges to answer to, as well.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office report, Kathy D. Murphy, 49, 2297 Hartland Road, was traveling westbound on Hartland-Somerset Townline Road at about 11:30 p.m. when she failed to stop at the stop sign at Quaker Road, causing a collision. She was charged at the time with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to notify the DMV of her address change. She also consented to a blood test.

Monday NCSO received the results of her blood test. According to the report, Murphy "tested positive in both blood and urine for the following: cannabinoids, opiates, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, free codeine, gabapentin, nortriptyline and alprazolam."

She is additionally charged with driving while impaired by drugs and DWI. Also, a DLIC inquiry showed her license to be revoked as of 10/26/11 for driving while ability impaired by alcohol, which brings an additional charge of felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

She is set to be arraigned at the Town of Somerset Court on her return date for original charges, April 3.
