four retirements made official earlier this week, the Lockport Police Department had some positions to fill.
The department has done that, promoting five to the position of lieutenant, including Rodney Peters, Marshall Belling, Travis Mapes, Anthony Pittman, and Kendra Ditullio.
Additionally, the department has promoted Brian Wentland as the new chief of detectives and Todd Chenez as the new lieutenant of detectives.
Photos from the event are available on the Lockport Police Department Facebook page.
The retirements, announced on Monday, included Capt. Rick Podgers, Det. Lt. Scott Seekins, Lt. Dave Barrancotta, and Officer Joseph Brown, all of whom left early to prevent layoffs within the department.
