About 30 feet of copper downspouts, valued at $500 were stolen from Hartland Central Cemetery on Ridge Road in Gasport, according to a report filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
The report states that sometime between Sunday and Wednesday, two 5-foot and two 10-foot sections of the copper downspouts, which were painted red, were taken from the cemetery. Also, the gutters which were on the south and east side of the building were damaged in an attempt to remove them.
Patrol checked with Niagara Metals in Gasport, Dunn's Salvage in Middleport and Lock City Metals with negative results.
