The National Weather Service calls for a high of 20 today with an 80 percent chance of snow. The temperature is expected to drop into the single digits tonight with flurries. Christmas Day's high and low is 24 and 23 respectively with a 50 percent chance of snow during the day. Thursday offers a high of 29 and a low of 21 with more snow likely.
There is a flood warning in effect for Tonawanda Creek in the Rapids area. As of 8 a.m., the creek was at 15.1 feet and rising. It's expected to crest at 15.2 feet this afternoon. Flood stage is 12 feet.
