The National Weather Service calls for mostly sunny skies today with a high near 88 and a low around 67.

Sunday will also be mostly sunny with a high near 86 and a low around 69. Labor Day: Mostly sunny with a high near 88 and a low around 70. Tuesday, there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 87 and a low around 68.

Wednesday brings a chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 81 and a low around 61. Thursday, there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 77 and a low around 60. Friday offers a chance of showers and thunderstorm with a high near 76.

Olcott will end summer with a bang literally — as Krull Park will host fireworks for the final time this season at 10 p.m. Sunday.

There's other things to do along the lake, as well, including the 25th Annual Olcott Beach Classic Car show from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday at Krull Park. And then if you want more cars, check Main Street from 6 - 9 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the Olcott Beach Gazebo Concert Series features the Barker Community Band from 2 - 4 p.m. Meanwhile, Monday offers the Bar Room Buzzards from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Gazebo, as well as the season closer for the Olcott Beach Carousel Park from noon - 6 p.m. Bucko the Clown will be there with balloon animals from 1 -3 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 3

The Buffalo Dolls will perform Saturday at the Lockport Community Market.

The Buffalo Dolls will make a return to the Lockport Community Market on Saturday.

The female vocal trio will be performing from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Canal Street gazebo, singing the hits of the 1940s, '50s and '60s in the style of The Andrews Sisters. Members of the Dolls – Rusty Droz, Donna Kerr, and Carolyn Unitas Roos are Western New York music educators who founded the group in 2013.  

Also featured this week at the market:

 7 - 8 a.m.: Last Yoga Class of the Season, sponsored by Artemis Center for Health & Wellness. Please bring a mat, blanket or towel and a water bottle.

 10 - 11:30 a.m.:  Buffalo songwriter Davey O., who will be performing at the market in the Canal Street Gazebo. Davey O. has been described as having "a journalist’s eye for detail and poet’s ear for the well-turned observation." www.daveyo.com

The Lockport Community Market runs each Saturday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. July through October 3rd, on historic Canal Street in downtown Lockport. This family-friendly, open-air market features live entertainment, activities and demonstrations, and a multitude of vendors each week offering fresh produce, meat, baked goods, local wine, jewelry, unique gifts, and much more.

MIDDLEPORT — The Royalton-Hartland Community Library Book Sale will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, running through Sept. 13.

The popular sale offers hardcover books for 50 cents, paperback and children's books for 25 cents, and dollar DVDs. On Sept. 13, the final day of the sale, books are $2 per bag from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The Friends of the Library will also be holding a Basket Raffle with 13 themed gift baskets, currently on display at the library. Tickets for $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be held at 3 p.m. on the 13th.

Lockside Art Center is looking for art submissions for its upcoming Monochrome Exhibition, opening Sept. 12.

The “monochrome” description refers to one color, adjusted by value (light to dark), for example reds, ranging from white, pink, red hues, black. Color is an option, all grayscale is welcome.

The center welcome most media (drawings, paintings, photography, computer generated images, fabric art, sculpture, etc.); Those who wish to submit other types of media, are asked to discuss it with the center prior to submission.

The artist exhibition fee for two pieces is $15 for members of LAC, $25 for nonmembers. Artists may submit more than two pieces according to that fee schedule. Art sold at the exhibition will be so marked, and will remain in the exhibition until it closes.
