The science fiction series begins with the first installment, titled “Introducing Edmund Drake,” setting up what Root — of Lockport — refers to as a different kind of alien story.
“I wanted to present a story that is a little different than most other alien stories and I am very happy with the results,” Root said. “This is the first book in what will be many Caleb Devin novels to come and I wanted to give people a chance to read the book for free to help introduce the series.”
The book follows Devin, a famous TV magazine show host, as he ruins his career and then looks for redemption by interviewing Edmund Drake, the leader of an alien invasion.
The Kindle-only book will retail for $2.99 but is being offered free through Friday.
