Lockport Varsity Federation Hockey fell 6-1 to the Hamburg Bulldogs in ice action this evening at Cornerstone CFCU Arena. The Lions lone goal came in the third period, scored by Antonio Faraci with an assist from John Ottaviano.
Hamburg roared out of the gate, building a 2-0 lead through the end of the first period. The Bulldogs added a third goal in second. They extended the lead to 5-0 before Faraci’s goal put the Lions on the board. Hamburg closed out the scoring at 16:56 of the third.
“Our guys hung in there despite the score,” said head coach Rick Eberhart. “Our goaltender, Jack Igoe, had a great game. He faced a lot of shots. I’m not even sure how many, but it was a lot.”
Next up for the Lions is a 5:30 p.m. game Saturday when they will face off against Sweet Home Panthers at Northtown Center in Amherst.
