NEWFANE — A Ketchum Avenue man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that someone threw an unknown tar-like substance on his car while it was parked in his driveway.

The man told patrol that the incident happened sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning. He said that after he noticed the substance on the paint, he took the vehicle to the car wash and washed the substance off but said that the vehicle paint was bubbling up where the unknown substance had been in contact with the paint.

Patrol did observed several spots on the victim's vehicle where the paint appeared to be pealing up. The complainant was not aware of any possible suspects at the time of this report. No witnesses were present to be interviewed by patrol. The complainant said that the damage was estimated in excess of $2,200.00.
