Lockport man charged with selling counterfeit jerseys

A Mill Street man was charged Friday with two counts of third-degree trademark infringement after a multiple law enforcement agencies found what they say were 47 counterfeit athletic jerseys in his home.

Stephen M. Penkalski, 46, 173 Mill Street, was charged after the Niagara County Drug Task Force and Homeland Security executed a search warrant, where they found and seized the jerseys and other items, according to the Lockport Police Department.

According to the report filed, Penkalski was charged previously with selling counterfeit jerseys to a federal agent in April and earlier in May. Further charges are pending.
