Second Place went to Karen Carbonara for her ink rendering, “Infrastructure II,” while Dody Walter’s watercolor, “Somerset III” took home the Third Place award. Honorable Mentions went to Katherine King for “Stein with Lemons, George Gilham's “5.5.97,” and Sally Reid's “Pink Cluster.” Attendees of the opening voted Jane Hattaway’s oil painting, “Misty Mountain,” as viewer’s choice.
The show was judged by Jeffrey Watkins an accomplished Lockport artist who has exhibited numerous times and won several awards.
The Black and White show continues until March 22nd.
The Market Street Art Studios are located at 247 Market Street in Lockport. Winter Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the gift show and galleries are free. Many of the artists studios are also open for observation or to talk with the artists during business hours, as well.
