ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
SOMERSET -- A Quaker Road told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that someone fraudulently used his credit card to make a purchase at a Victoria's Secret in Ohio and attempted to open a credit card in his name in Florida.
The man said he discovered the charge on Christmas and contacted his bank who refunded the $75 charge. He said he also received a letter for a denial of credit application from a Synchronicity Bank in Florida. He told patrol that he did not apply for credit and contacted the FTC, who advised him to file a report with local law enforcement.
Patrol advised the complainant to contact credit reporting bureaus and monitor his credit and report any further attempts on his identity.
