Robert J McKnight passed away January 16, 2016 surrounded by his family and under the care of Niagara County Hospice.
“Bob” was born June 6th 1947 in Niagara Falls, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Katherine Dowling McKnight. He received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Canisius College, spending 40 years in banking, a majority of that time spent as a Sr. Vice President of commercial lending with HSBC. After retirement he worked at Greater Buffalo and 5 Star. Bob was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Brookfield Country Club, 25 year member of the Eastern Niagara Hospital Board of Director, Board member of the Niagara Label, Lockport Rotary Club and was a financial advisor to several companies. In his free time he loved golfing but most of all spending time with family and friends,
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Maureen Connery McKnight whom he married in 1970; father of Katherine (Chuck) Haas, Colleen (Patrick) Murray; grandfather of Maddy Kate, Paddy and R.J.; brother of Richard J. (Donna) McKnight of Niagara Falls, NY, Mark J. McKnight of Alexandria, VA and Mary (John) Calabro of Clifton Park, NY. Also survived by several loved nieces and nephews and treasured friends.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday evening January 21st from 7 to 9 PM and Friday January 22nd from 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 23rd , 2016 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY. Memorials in Bob’s memory to The First Tee of WNY, 742 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY 14209, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
