Richard G. Liddell of Newfane husband of the late Fayetta Vincent Liddell entered into rest Sunday, January 3, 2016 in Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport, NY.
He was born in Newfane, NY July 18 1930, the son of the late Maurice and Christine Methven Liddell. He married Fayetta Vincent July 19, 1953, she died April 18, 2015. Richard was a US Navy Veteran who served this country from 1948- 1957. He was the Niagara County Fire Coordinator from 1969 -1978. Richard then was a Fire Investigator for the Niagara County Sheriff's Office until his retirement in 1989. Member of Newfane United Methodist Church, exempt member and past Chief of Miller Hose Fire Company. Richard also coached girls softball and field hockey for Newfane School, Medina School and Wilson School for over 20 years and was a past member of Newfane Lions Club.
Father of Sheryl (Frank) Curro of Oneida, NY, David (Laura) Liddell of Ellenton, FL, Kristi (Andrew) Young of Albion, NY, Debra Liddell of Newfane, NY and Dennis Liddell of Newfane. Brother of Helen Keller of Newfane, NY, Ronald (Judy) Liddell of Greece, NY and the late Marjorie Whitcomb. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY 14108 THURSDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY at 11:00 AM in Newfane United Methodist Church 2699 Main St. Newfane, NY. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery. Memorials to Newfane United Methodist Church or Newfane Lions Club Scholorship Fund PO Box 254 Newfane, NY 14108 would be appreciated by the family.
