ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT -- A 20-year-old Lockport woman was charged on Dec. 30 with failing to display a valid inspection sticker after a traffic stop on Beattie Avenue.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Tori Lynn Davis, 118 Locust St., was stopped by patrol for speeding when patrol found that DMV records stated the car did not have an inspection on file, although there was an inspection sticker attached to the car. Davis told patrol that the vehicle wasn't hers, prompting patrol to have her call the car's owner, who said that the owner "had someone bring the car to be inspected earlier this month."
Patrol attempted further contact with the DMV about the certificate that was attached but could not get a response.
Davis was issued a uniform traffic ticket for no inspection and ordered to appear in Town of Lockport Court on Jan. 21.
The inspection sticker that was attached to the vehicle was confiscated.
