ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT -- A 62-year-old Locust Street man was charged last week with harassing his neighbor.
According to reports from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, patrol responded to a harassment complaint where they were told that Edward Sikorski, 5773 Locust St. Ext., pushed a man and threatened him.
Originally, the complainant told dispatch that Sikorski brandished a firearm but when patrol met with complainant, he advised that Sikorski lifted up the front of his jacket as if he had a gun but that no direct threats were made in regards to a gun, nor did the complainant actually see a gun.
The complainant pressed charges against Sikorski for second-degree harassment. Sikorski was released on an appearance ticket to Town of Lockport Court for Thursday.
During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Sikorski had a hand gun that he purchased in Arizona but did not have a valid New York State pistol permit. Patrol took custody of the gun until Sikorski could obtain the proper paperwork.
