Representatives from the Lockport Family YMCA had good fortune at the Elk's Districts Hoop Shoot on Jan. 16.
Dray Akin took first place in the Boys 10 & 11 category, while Jasmine White won the Girls 12 & 13 cateory, each to advance to the State Regional Feb. 13 at St Francis of Assisi in Tonawanda
Sam Murphy nearly won his Boys 12 & 13 cateogry, losing in a triple tie breaker after making 21 of 25 shots in the first round, sinking 4 of 5 in the first tie breaker, 4 of 5 in the second tie-breaker then losing by one in the third tie-breaker.
