ROCHESTER -- The Lockport Express defeated the Roc City Royals 6-5 Sunday afternoon thanks to four points each by Ryan Logar and Mark Friol -- and an overtime goal by Jordan Pocobello.

Logar fed Lockport's first goal, scored by Mark Friol at 5:15 of the first period. Then he scored a power play play goal at 6:32, fed by Friol and Christopher Gasiewicz. Brandon Corey scored for Roc City at 14:30. Assisted by Anthony DePetres, the goal made it 2-1 Lockport.

It was Logar again to start the second period, scoring at 3:53, assisted by Friol and Gasiewicz. Cameron Clark made it 3-2 with a power play goal at 9:04. DePetres and Matt Corey assisted. Matt Corey then scored his own goal at 12:46, assisted by Brandon Corey and DePetres. Lockport went up 4-3 on a Frank Vecchio Jr. goal at 12;50. Dylan Jenkins and Justin Andriaccio tallied assists.

In the third period, Matt Corey tied it for Roc City at 13:14, assisted by Justin Allen. then at 18:00, the Royals took their first lead of the game on a Brandon Corey goal, assisted by Clark and Aidan Conolly. Lockport took advantage of a power play -- and extra attacker -- tying the game at 18:56 with a Dylan Jenkins goal. Logar and Friol got the assists.

Pocobello netted the overtime winner at 3:06, assisted by Gasiewicz and Josh Evoy.

The win puts the Express record at 12-13-4 for 29 points -- three points behind the third place Royals in the NA3EHL West. Lockport next plays against the New York Aviators on Saturday in New York.

  • The goaltenders faced a total of 126 shots on Sunday, stopping 115 of them.
