NEW YORK CITY -- The brothers Andriaccio combined for a third-period goal against the New York City Aviators on Sunday, the only Lockport Express goal in a 5-1 loss at Hanger 5.
The contest saw 121 shots on goal between the two teams with Lockport taking 57 shots on New York goaltender Steven Mundinger. Express netminder Sal Stalteri made 59 saves on 64 shots.
New York opened the scoring at 6:40 of the first period with an unassisted Jimmy Warrick goal. Daniel Backstrom followed up at 11:27 with a goal assisted by Robert Kalata.
It was Backstrom again at 1:34 of the second period, assisted this time by Eric Hewitt and Sam Shaheen. Kalata then made it 4-0 New York with a power play goal at 10:08, assisted by Backstrom and Nick Jean-Louis.
Justin Andriaccio got the Express on the board at 9:16, assisted by his brother Jake Andriaccio. Jean-Louis wrapped up the scoring at 14:53, assisted by Eric Hewitt and Phillip Garcia.
The Express, now 13-14-4 doesn't play again until Jan. 28 when the team plays its first of four games in four days, part of the NA3EHL league showcase to be held at Cornerstone CFCU Arena.
