Brendan McFall scored first for Lockport, unassisted at 9:01 of the first period. Gibson Stuart tallied the Express' second goal -- also unassisted -- just 38 seconds later. Dan Buehler made it 2-1 at 12:15, assisted by Nicholas Sanborn and Rayond Falso. Frank Vecchio Jr. put Lockport back ahead by a pair at 15:55 with help from Justin Durkee.
In the second period, Andrew Logar widened the gap at 16:21, assisted by McFall and Kurt Villani. Falso made it 4-2, assisted by Sanborn and Tucker Bartenslager with 35 second to go in the period.
Vecchio scored his second of the night at 19:29 of the third period, fed by Durkee and Dylan Jenkins, making for the 5-2 final.
Both teams mostly stayed out of the penalty box for the game with Lockport getting six minutes worth of penalties in three infractions and Syracuse getting eight minutes worth in four infractions. The teams were also relatively penalty free on Friday, each serving four minutes on two infractions.
The Express, which has gained three of a possible four points so far on the Syracuse road trip, plays the Stampede again today at 11 a.m. The Express is now 9-5-4 for 22 points on the season.
