LONG ISLAND -- The Buffalo Sabres won their second straight game Sunday night for the first time this season. They've also won three of their last four games.
It was the New York Islanders who scored first when Calvin de Haan netted a goal against Linus Ullmark at 13:42 of the second period. Of the 30 shots he faced, it was the only one to elude Ullmark.
Matt Moulson tied it for the Sabres at 6:20 of the third period, assisted by Zemgus Girgensons and Brian Gionta. Then at 13:44 rookie Sam Reinhart put the Sabres ahead, assisted by David Legwand and Jamie McGinn.
With the win, the Sabres record now stands at 5-7-0. The host the Tampa Lightning on Thursday, hoping to climb closer to the .500 mark.
