Carl S. Leichtnam, of Southern Pines, NC, beloved husband of 66 years to Bernice H. Leichtnam (nee Leising), went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2015.

He was the dear father of Mark (Barbara), Sally (Peter) Pawlik, John (Marqueena), Judy (Benjie) Giazzon, Paul, Mary (Steven) Barone, and Steven; also 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, brother of the late John, Madeline and Helen (Harry) Metz; brother-in-law of  Joan (Robert) Walker, Norma (late Roland) Pfohl, Sylvia (late Lloyd) Hahn, Robert (Barbara) Leising, and the late James (Mary and Jean), Mildred, Odelia (James) Allen, Zeta (Joseph) Allen, Rita (Leo) Laubacker, Irma (V. Lee) Gray, Ruth (Daniel) Huber, Vincent (Margaret) Leising, Albert (Joan) Leising, and Norman (Ann) Leising, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Carl was a WWII Veteran in the Marine 2nd Division he fought in Saipan, and in battles in the South Pacific.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist, RC Church on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10 am family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
