ROYALTON -- The Niagara County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the man killed this morning on Akron Road near Dysinger Road. The name of the driver was also released.
The deceased is 55-year-old Robert Strassel. He was struck by the westbound vehicle driven by 23-year-old Michael Rider Jr. of Barker while clearing debris from an earlier collision that killed his dog.
Strassel was taken to ECMC by Mercy Flight where he later died.
The investigation is continuing by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit. No charges have been announced.
