ROYALTON -- A 53-year-old Akron Road man who was struck by a motor vehicle this morning died from his injuries.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the man's dog had been struck and killed earlier and the man had removed the dog from the roadway and was attempting to clean up debris when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to ECMC by Mercy Flight where he later died.
The investigation is continuing by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit.
