ENP STAFF REPORTS

An 18-year-old Lockport man tried bribing a Lockport police officer late Saturday night in order to get out of a traffic ticket, according to LPD.

Deandre T. Reed, 18, 222 Washington St., Apt. A, was stopped for a traffic infraction around 11:42 p.m.

While patrol was interviewing the driver, Reed said, "you want me to give you two-fifty right now?" according to the report. Reed, who was a passenger in the vehicle, then gave police a fake name and birthdate. Patrol "checked Reed for identification finding a prison release card showing the male's identity to be Deandre Reed."

Reed was charged with false personation and third-degree bribery. He was slated for City Court this morning.
