Lockport Express forward Ryan Logar and defenseman Gibson Stuart received honorable mentions this week from the NA3EHL.
Stuart scored a goal and an assist Friday vs. the New York Aviators, while Logar had four assists over the three-game weekend. Both players are in their second year with the Express.
In naming its stars of the week, the league chose Aviators' forward Daniel Backstrom, who assisted on all three goals in New York's loss to the Express on Friday, and had a pair of goals and five assists in the team's games Saturday and Sunday against the Roc City Royals.
The league's second star went to Skyland Kings forward Alec Sanchez. Honorable mentions went to Logar and Stuart, as well as Frederic Ampleman and Scott Hansen of the Jersey Shore Wildcats, Ernest Komarnitskii of the Skylands Kings, and Jimmy Warrick of the New York Aviators.
The Express will face off against Backstrom and the Aviators again this weekend when they play them in Brooklyn Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 12:20 p.m.
The Express are 4-3-1 for nine points, placing them second in the Western Conference — behind the 6-1 Aviators.
Logar and brother Andrew were featured this week on "Catching Up With the Lockport Express," East Niagara Post's weekly YouTube feature about the Junior A club.
