POTSDAM -- Clarkson University aeronautical engineering student Colin Stutz of Lockport was one of the students honored for their research presentation during the 18th annual Summer Symposium on Undergraduate Research Experiences (SURE) at Clarkson University.

Stutz, a senior, won first place in the aeronautical engineering and aerospace oral session. Stutz's research focuses on the characterization of vortex structures downstream of an oscillating NACA 0012 airfoil.

SURE provides undergraduates a forum for presentations of research and independent projects, or other educational activities such as internships, co-ops and study abroad experiences. The goal is to celebrate all forms of scholarship and to provide an opportunity for a broad audience to appreciate work by Clarkson's undergraduate students.

Clarkson University, located just outside the Adirondack Park in Potsdam, is a nationally recognized research university for undergraduates with select graduate programs in signature areas of academic excellence directed toward the world's pressing issues.
