Jean M. Bailey went to be in the arms of the Lord surrounded by family October 12, 2015.
Born in January 20, 1934 she was the daughter of Lawrence and Hilda (Knieser) Morehouse. Jean worked for the Lockport Union Sun & Journal for 45 years retiring in January of 1998. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Jean enjoyed camping, traveling, cruising and photography but most of all family. Family events, weddings, celebrations, trials and triumphs were her life and she and her camera never missed being an important part of anyone’s life, no matter how small.
Jean the matriarch of the family is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Edson A. Bailey of Lockport; mother of Donna (Mark) Reineke of Lockport and Mark (Wendy) Bailey of Saginaw, MI; grandmother of five, Nicole (Arthur) Sherry of Houston, TX, Heather (Adam) Irr of Seattle, WA, Jessica (Kevin) Dougherty of Las Vegas, NV, Melissa Reineke of Houston, TX, and Mark Bailey of Saginaw, MI. Predeceased by older brother Lawrence Morehouse and she will be greatly missed by her sister Patricia Krentz of Appleton and many nieces, nephews cousins and many dear friends from near and far.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, Oct. 14th from 3-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 15th at 11 AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7147 Ridge Rd., Newfane. Interment will be in Wrights Corners cemetery. Memorial donations to the church would be appreciated by the family.
