Another week, another pair of players from the Lockport Express Junior A hockey team are honored. This time, it's forwards Christopher Gasiewicz and Frank Vecchio Jr., receiving honorable mentions in the league's Stars of the Week feature.
Gasiewicz, 19, from Depew, had a goal and three assists during Sunday's game against the Syracuse Stampede. Vecchio, 19, from Wheatfield had a goal and two assists during the team's two-game series with the Stampede.
Top honors for the week went to New York Aviators defenseman Eric Hewitt, while Jersey Shore Wildcats forward Bogdan Khvatov took the second star.
Also receiving honorable mentions were Syracuse forward Raymond Falso, Jersey Shore forward Jared Karas, Syracuse defenseman Raymond Rowe, and Aviators forward Jimmy Warrick.
