BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres won the first game of a highly touted three-game hockey prospects tournament held in Buffalo — against the potential future stars of the New Jersey Devils.
The Sabres top prospect, Jack Eichel, scored just 25 seconds into the game, setting the tone for the 6-2 win. The Sabres scored twice more in the first period, while the Devils didn't even get on the scoreboard until the third.
The Sabres will next play Boston Bruin prospects on Monday at First Niagara Center, while the Devils face the Bruins at 7 p.m. tonight at HARBORCENTER.
