Local police agencies will hold a prescription drug drop off event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office will offer the drop-off service at the NCSO parking lot at 5526 Niagara St. Ext. The Lockport Police Department will hold one at the Lockport Plaza on South Transit Street just south of Willow Street.
Any unused or expired medication may be brought in for safe disposal during the event, which is held in conjunction with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration. This is the DEA's 10th drug drop off. In the previous nine, 4,823,251 pounds, or 2,411 tons of drugs were collected.
