TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 38-year-old Town of Lockport woman was charged Tuesday with theft from Tops on South Transit Road.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Julia E. Smith, 7603 Chestnut Ridge Road, pushed a shopping cart full of groceries past all points of purchase without paying them at around 1:05 p.m. Tuesday.
Smith, who had several children with her according to the NCSO report, was stopped by Tops employees. NCSO took her into custody and released her on an appearance ticket to Town of Lockport Court for Thursday morning.
