TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 26-year-old Lockport woman was charged Saturday with DWI and criminal possession of a controlled substance following a South Transit Road traffic stop.
According to New York State Police Tina Cancar was stoppe for speeding when Troopers detected a strong smell of alcohol emitting from her. She was determiend to be intoxicated and found to be in possession of five Alprazolam pills for which she did not have a prescription for.
Cancar was transported to SP Lockport for processing which revealed a blood-alcohol content of 0.08%. She was issued an appearance ticket for the DWI and controlled substance charges and traffic tickets for speeding and having an uninspected motor vehicle. She is slated to appear in the Town of Lockport Court on Friday.
