news@eastniagarapost.com
A 25-year-old Lockport man was charged with felony DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in Pomfret on Sunday.
According to New York State Police, Damien Haseley was stopped on State Route 60 for speeding, moving from lane unsafely and driving left of the pavement markings. While interviewing Haseley, Troopers noticed the smell of marijuana was emanating from inside the vehicle and the odor of an alcoholic beverage was also detected.
Haseley was determined to be intoxicated and an alcotest found him to have a .15 percent blood alcohol content. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana, resulting in the possession charge.
Haseley was issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Pomfret Court on Sept. 22 and then released to a family member.
