TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Several items were reported stolen from a Robinson Road staging area for the Erie Canal bike path from the City of Lockport to Pendleton.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the items stolen from the site in the 5800 block of Robinson Road included a back flow preventer, a water meter, cable wire, and miscellaneous parts off construction equipment. The complainant told patrol that individuals have been taking miscellaneous scrap during the construction but this is the first report made to NCSO.
Patrol was told that when the complainant arrived around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, there was a vehicle at one of the entrances that looked like a "scrapper's vehicle."
NCSO said that extra checks of the area would be made and a report would be on file.
