William "Bill" Tilton Sr., of Lockport, passed away Thursday August 13, 2015 at Buffalo General Hospital.
Bill was born February 14, 1943 in Lockport, NY; he was the son of the late Harry J. Sr. and Elizabeth Haenle Tilton. Bill worked for Harrison Radiator, retiring in 1994. He had many lifelong friends and enjoyed dining out, laughter and sitting at the camp fire with friends at Conesus Lake.
He was the beloved husband of the late "Peanut" Tilton of Lockport, whom he married January 15, 1966; beloved father of Elizabeth (Pedro) Vermales of Oviedo, FL and Bill Tilton, Jr. of Lockport; grandfather of Tisa Mullins of Middletown, MD and Marcy Salisbury of Springfield, VA Great grandfather of Alyssa Salisbury. He is also survived by His brother Harry Tilton Jr. of Kissimmee, FL and sister in laws, Virginia (Vic) Cruse of Tuscaloosa, AL, Rosie (Bill) McQueen of Middleport, Florence (Denise) Gilbert of North Tonawanda, and Shirley (Dave) Nelson of Bowling Green, KY; and his brother in laws, Fredrick Bishop, Richard Bishop, both of Western, NY; uncle of David Tilton and Marc (Katherine) Tilton and several other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, on Friday, August 14, 2015 between the hours of 4:00-7:00 PM, where funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 in Bill's honor.
