ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Royal Parkway South resident told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that someone had opened credit accounts in her name.
The woman said she had received two separate credit card readers in the mail on Monday. The first one was from Chase Bank and it was addressed to a business with a name similar to the caller's. She contacted Chase and advised them that she didn't order the reader. Chase confirmed the last 4 digits of her social security number. Chase stated that the account was open under her name and advised her that they closed it. Chase also asked her to return the reader.
The second reader was addressed to a similarly named business from North American Bank Card. That bank also confirmed the same and told the woman to throw the reader away and that they closed the account.
The report was filed at the request of the creditor. Case closed by NCSO.
