Walnut Street traffic does not stop. |
In its place, stop signs have been installed for north- and southbound traffic on Vine Street. Walnut Street traffic will have the right of way and will not be required to stop.
The new stop signs also have large yellow signs indicating that cross traffic does not stop.
According to LPD Traffic Captain Mike Niethe, the change comes following careful study by the City of Lockport Traffic Advisory Committee and others.
Lockport police are encouraging motorists to use extra caution in this area due to the new traffic regulation.
