Lockport police have called for backup from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office in a manhunt for a 17-year-old near the West Genesee Street bridge over the Erie Canal.
Police say the suspect is a short African American male, wearing shorts, and a blue shirt with red stripes.
Police lost sight of the male but are confident they'll find him.
According to LPD, the male is a suspect in an assault that occurred this evening.
