NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION — Dominic Curcione, a senior at Wilson Senior High School designed this year's poster for the 2015 Thunder of Niagara Air Show. The poster was designed in Lynn Schuler-Bewley's Advanced Media Arts class.
Curcione has dedicated his volunteer service to bringing attention to the sacrifices and strengths of military children. He was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service award at the Silver Level for his community service hours. He will attend Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall pursuing a degree in Imaging Sciences. His father Paul is a Reservist with the 914th Airlift Wing, and his mother Holly works with the Niagara Military Affairs Council.
The poster depicts a graphic representation of the Niagara Falls region, as well as pictures of the USAF Thunderbirds and the U.S. Army Golden Knights, two of the many performers that will be featured at the 2015 Thunder of Niagara Air Show.
The poster also prominently displays the theme for this year's show, "A Salute to Western New York," as we recognize the community for their unwavering support to our local military.
"Military members, not only at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, but across Western New York, recognize the support we receive every day from the local community," said Air Force Maj. Ben Canetti, Air Show Director. "Thunder of Niagara 2015 is lining up to be one of our best shows yet, and is our way of thanking the community for their support."
